According to the Hindustan Times published that they India offered to host the Icc T20 World Cup 2014 Tournament if the hosts Bangladesh fail to get the venues ready before the timeframe set by the ICC.
Jagmohan Dalmiya said that the interim president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India
(BCCI) has said to have given the offer to the ICC.
Dalmiya, who returned after attending the International Cricket Council (ICC) annual conference in London on Wednesday, said, “We have given a guarantee that if need be, we will help them by having stand-by venues”.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) will do the inspection of the pitches in September 2013.
Dalmiya said that in a statement, Four venues — Cox’s Bazar, Chittagong, Mirpur and Sylhet — are doubtful for next year’s T20 World Cup.
Dalmiya also said that they have given a guarantee to be on stand-bye if the venues aren’t complete by December.
According to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), Chittagong and Mirpur pitches are ready but Cox’s Bazar and Sylhet were still not.
However, Indian government has given a guarantee to the ICC that both will be ready by December, A BCB official said.
The Icc T20 World Cup 2014 is scheduled to be held between March 16th to April 6th. India is already hosting the Icc 2016 World T20 cup.
