International Cricket Council (ICC) has
announced the schedule for T20
world cup 2014 qualifiers. There will be sixteen teams to play
against each other to get their place in remaining 6 slots for next year’s icc
world t20 tournament in Bangladesh. World T20 qualifiers round will be held
from 15th November to 30th November
2013 in UAE.
This is 3rd occasion
when United Arab Emirates are organizing this event. Last time UAE hosted
world t20 qualifiers in
2012 where Ire Land and Afghanistan secured their position for twenty20 world
cup 2012 in Sri Lanka. In 2010 UAE also organized this tournament successfully.
Tim Anderson (ICC’s Global Development Manager) says, the time
has come once again for important and prestigious event on the ICC calendar in
which 16 leading members amongst the Associates and Affiliates will vie for the
six available places in the ICC World Twenty20 Bangladesh 2014.
The final qualifier is the last step of a pathway that comprised
11 regional tournaments during2012 and 2013, this time we will see six teams
gain the opportunity to be a part of the global tournament to be held next
year.
David East (Chief Executive of Emirates Cricket Board) exclaims
with joy and says, we are happy and excited to host the ICC World Twenty20
Qualifiers 2013 for the third successive year.
